Cervatec™ ELISA Assay kit
The Cervatec™ ELISA Assay based on mtm's p16INK4a Technology is currently being developed for the detection of the soluble cervical cancer marker in cell lysates. This assay is not dependent on cell preparation and morphologic analysis, with the potential to revolutionize how cervical cancer screening is performed. mtm seeks to satisfy the enormous desire for a cervical cancer immunoassay that does not rely on the evaluation of cancer-associated changes in cellular morphology by highly trained personnel.
The high correlation between the over-expression of p16INK4a and pre-cancerous and cancerous cervical cells provides the opportunity for the development of a stand-alone, non-cell based assay that is independent of cellular integrity.
The assay is currently undergoing further proof-of-principle trials on a large set of clinical specimens.
